"In stone towers four, hooded watcher at the door, and in alcoved threescore, let us be."

This manga is one of my absolute favorites!!

My experience finding the Manga

When I was a kid, I went to a scholastic book faire. I wanted this manga called Peach Fuzz because it looked soooooo cute and everyone was talking about it. We were like in 4th grade lol. But one of the girls i didn't like bought the last copy. My mom gave me book faire money late in the week, so I missed a lot of the good stuff. But I LOOOOOVE mermaids, always have. +Anima Volume 2 was on the same little manga shelf display (they only sold 4 manga back then and they were all super G-rated) so I bought it because the character on the front looked like a mermaid! I fell in love with it, and bought the 1st volume to read so I could read the series. (I was a kid and didn't know about reading manga online, don't judge lol.)

Bizenghast Promotional Ad Pic

In the BACK of the 1st volume of +Anima, there was an ad for Bizenghast. And since I was a little kid, the picture creeped me out haha. But I was enchanted with it. Finally some time later, I had matured a little more and started to like somewhat darker things. So I got Bizenghast at Books-A-Million.

I read the Manga and ended up buying more volumes! I fell in love with Dinah and Vincent and Edaniel and Edrear. At the time, I think volume 6 had only just come out. I remember how thrilled I was to read volume 7, and how tragic it was when TokyoPOP filed for bankruptcy and volume 8 was delayed. When I was like 15 and was about to move out of the United States, my mommy took me to Megacon and I was browsing the dealer room. I found my holy-fucking-grail at a Manga resale booth! Bizenghast Volume 8, the finale! I was so so so happy to finally have closure before my options for getting the Manga would be further limited.
